Wilson County held its lightest primary vote in history with about 2000 ballots cast. Incumbent W A Voges led in Precinct 2 with 816 to 72 for Charlie Meyer, while the entire county slate secured returns without opposition. Baker won the 79th district seat over Radford. Karnes county backed Baker, and Bobbitt led Attorney General race. The Democratic Executive Committee will canvass results and plan the August 23 runoff.

Seguin Highway Work Near Completion This Week
Seguin highway work on the gravel base from San Marcos to Seguin No 23 will finish this week with tarvia or asphalt topping once settled. The Seguin end is already done and tarvia has been spread on a short section.
