Card thanks friends for sympathy and assistance during illness and death of wife. Grateful for every act of kindness and support extended to the family in this time of sorrow.
Captain W O Murray of Battery D 181st Field Artillery in the 36th Division has returned to Floresville from New York via Camp Mead after ten days. He did not see active service in France but speaks proudly of Battery D’s condition and duties. He plans to resume private life after discharge in a few days.
A 1919 Lavernia event honors returned soldiers with a large community gathering at Gavernia, including a postponed entertainment due to weather. Yesterday the Protestant Orphans' Home announced donations received including a pledge of $100 monthly from Alzafar Temple of Shriners for the home. The gift supports the wives of residents and activities at the San Antonio facility.
