Floresville man guilty on two counts of child sex assault
Robert James Estrada, 34, was found guilty by a Wilson County jury in Floresville's 218th District Court on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He received 15 year sentences on each count, with the verdict delivered after about 30 minutes of deliberation.

Fallen veterans honored Saturday at Floresville Memorial
A Saturday ceremony at Floresville Memorial honored fallen veterans with family and veterans present. Floresville Jr. ROTC led opening rites with Linda Valdez, Col. Jesse Perez gave recognition to service members abroad, and Mayor Daniel Tejeda reflected on sacrifices for freedom. Laura Deleon, who died in Iraq, was acknowledged by her mother Grace. Staff Sgt. Christian Sandoval recited I Am A Soldier, and Linda Lopez Valdez urged remembrance of those in uniform as Taps closed.
