The Floresville Red Cross branch will receive a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 1420 Third Street Floresville on Wednesday April 23 2003 at 12 00 noon. Generous support from Wilson Karnes Atascosa and McMullen counties enabled the San Antonio Chapter to purchase the truck for disaster relief and life saving training. Floresville Branch Advisory Committee members will be present as the vehicle is unveiled outside Wilson County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon.
The Gonzales event titled Badges Boots and One Big Bang runs April 21–27 to support a planned 6 million Texas Rangers History and Education Center in Kerrville. Activities include a chuck wagon dinner and auctions at Braches House, Ranger Church service, and a history exhibit with interactive tech.
The Floresville Peanut Festival Association selected Miss Ryann Rocha as Queen Turnep LIX for the 59th Annual Peanut Festival. Chelsea Reed is First Runner-up, with Jamie Aktines Valerie Burciaga and Carolyn Whitley as Princesses. Coronation is October 9, 2003, at Floresville High School.
Wilson County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8555 and Ladies Auxiliary held Annual Recognition Day presenting Appreciation Awards to Lisa Johns of Floresville High School for Citizenship Education, Katherine Johns of Floresville Elementary, Roger Adams of Stockdale EMS, Jerry Hernandez Floresville volunteer firefighter, and Alvin Moczygemba of TABC.
