Fallen hero honored at Fort Sam Houston ceremony
A Floresville war hero Spc Laura Garcia De Leon Jr 20 who died in Balad Iraq in 2004 was memorialized in granite at Fort Sam Houston San Antonio During a Sunday dedication De Leon joined three other veterans from the 90th Regional Readiness Command in the Fallen Soldier Monument His mother Grace Lopez attended with family and recalled his love of a 1967 Ford Mustang and the song Low Rider The ceremony drew about 100 civilians retirees and 300 soldiers Also honored were Sgt Roberto Arizola Jr Spc Juan M Torres and Jonathan M Cheatham The article notes the ongoing support groups and upcoming Floresville prayer service at city hall on April 21

Floresville council selects firm for master water plan
On recommendation by City Manager Juan Cedillo the Floresville council chose Melden and Hunt Inc to develop a master water plan costing about 70000 drawn from a 332000 water and sewer fund. The firm will survey current water and wastewater infrastructure and define future needs to pursue state grants.
