Stockdale K-12 Gifted and Talented teacher Michelle Hartmann has been named one of five finalists in Peeps America's Favorite Easter Basket Contest. Her Texas themed basket features notable Texans and items like the horned lizard, a NASA rocket, and a Davy Crockett Peep. If she wins, the $10,000 cash option would support Stockdale ISD Gifted Education. Vote online or April 14–17.

Wilson County Commissioners received their annual audit showing the General Fund balanced with $24,000 in Actual Revenue over Actual Expenditures for the year ending September 30, 2002. The April 14 meeting covered Alamo Workforce System draft plan, tax exemption for Stockdale Lodge 470, grant revisions for the Drug Enforcement Task Force, East Central Water District creation, map updates with 37 subdivisions, and funding for flood damage grants including FEMA buyouts and SARA payments. Floresville Council Reports Strong Finances in 2003
Floresville City Council met April 10 2003 at city hall with all members present. The 2001 2002 audit was reviewed noting assets totaling 9 475 621.00 and an improved financial position versus prior years. The meeting tabled the appeal of termination for Darrell P Newman and Ryan A Todd. A municipal Mariachi program by Cissy Gonzalez was approved and a Resolution supporting troops in Iraq was passed. Jim Plummer presented on River Bend Development Reinvestment Zone Number One.
