RRC Sets April Hearing on Surface Mining Permit
The Railroad Commission scheduled April 6 at 10 a.m. for a hearing on San Miguel Electric Power Cooperative's request for a lignite surface mining permit in Atascosa County. The session will be at the Jourdanton Civic Center. The site lies about fifty miles south of San Antonio, fifteen miles south of Jourdanton, and six miles southeast of the town.

Two Path High School athletes receive state and all star honors. Donnie Uhlig a 6 1 senior guard earned Class A All State Basketball and All State Football selections plus 22 points and 10 rebounds per game and two time All District MVP. Joey Korzekwa a 6 1 210 pound senior defensive end also earned Class A All State Football and will play for the South squad in the 1978 Coaches All Star Game in Houston at the Astrodome.
