Jerome Sets Good Example Against Fire

Jerome’s new triple combination motorized fire apparatus, ordered ten months ago, has arrived and been tested. Demo from Elmira, New York instructed local firemen as Chief Hutchinson and others observed. Tests at Jerome Water Works showed two simultaneous streams with 105 psi, 303 and 325 gallons per minute, exceeding contract by 58 gallons. City council accepted the machine after a successful run marking a milestone for Jerome’s fire protection progress.

Duck Feed at Masonic Hall Tonight

The Masonic duck feed will be held at the Masonic hall tonight. At noon today 86 ducks had been dressed and were ready for the oven. Nearly 200 guests are expected to attend the banquet scheduled to commence at seven o clock full evening.

Thousand Dollars Acre Estate Deal Near Simnapreneo

An estate transaction last week sold a tract of land adjacent to Filer for 20008 total at 1000 per acre, involving PC Graves and H S Weaver. The piece was linked to a prior sale by W P Shing at eleven dollars per acre. Graven gains possession of the Weaver home on Yakina Avenue. L Dudley buys the Graves tract from Weaver, who plans to move to Twin Falls.

Sad Prayer for Mother and Infant Days Old

Idaho and Utah crops moved by interstate rail order

The Interstate Commerce Commission issued orders to move about 5700 cars of grain and crops from Utah and Idaho directly to eastern markets. The program, beginning immediately but with rail access lag, aims to relieve severe storage and elevator bottlenecks and transport twenty three million bushels of wheat awaiting shipment. The action follows a conference with H H W Prickett who cited car shortages and rising need to move Utah Idaho sugar crops as they come on the market.

New Owners Rename Local Drug Shop After Fire Loss

The Filer Pharmacy founded 1910 by J. C. McCreery has been renamed the Modern Drug Shop after changing hands Monday. New owners Boring Brothers and Di Ingham will operate under the Modern Drug Shop name with continued drug and phonograph lines, following the September 17 fire that destroyed the previous stock. L.
