Twin Falls County Fair closes successfully last week. Local items report hotel rentals, travels, and visits by residents like Mrs N A Lawson, Mr Winfred McCay Olson, and others. Self confessed army deserters and robbers H. H. Wilsop Frank Badd and Carl Ofon alias Earl Johnson were captured Saturday in Vale Oregon after escaping the Twin Falls county jail. They had attacked Deputy Sheriff Moffaan and were pursued by Malheur County Sheriff H Lee Ne and deputies. The trio fled in cars, allegedly taking a Hupmobile at Jerome and leaving it at Weiser. A $10 reward in Caldwell was offered and the men were returned to Twin Falls to await district court.
A local American Legion gathering drew a crowd as officers and members discussed plans for a Twin Pails celebration. Attendees heard from finance officer LaVerne Collie and reports on upcoming activities, with arrangements for a veterans’ service and community event at the town hall noted.
Delia Lyon Mise and Noble Von Fisher married at Hurley on Wednesday of last week. The bride is Effie Lyon’s daughter and has worked in the offices of Dr F A Deight and M J Iode. The groom, Pieber, is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs Far Fisher. He recently left Dark Seed company after serving with the 147 Machine Gun company 41st Division. He had earlier served on the Mexican border with the old Cowpense. The couple’s wedding follows prior military and local service.
