Twin Fuller Canal company directors cut next year maintenance assessment to 1.25 an acre from 1.50 this year and 3 previously. Based on about 203000 acres, payments due in March and October. If met on time, revenue covers safe operation, officials say.
A Monday afternoon collision at the Fair avenue and state highway intersection caused extensive damage to Harry Brandon’s touring car and an Allen Oil truck driven by Sue Baldwin of Buhl. The truck veered into a ditch, breaking its frame, while Brandon’s vehicle was badly wrecked but repairable. Baldwin took responsibility.
The Rev F 5 Kagey and his wife mourn the accidental death of his 15 year old brother in Yakima Washington from a discharged gun. Details remain unavailable as the pastor left for Washington. The obituary recalls a prior summer when Rev and Mrs Kagey lost the latter’s brother drowned during government engineering work.
John Kaeser, early dairyman, will auction 51 head of cattle at the Kaeser farm east of town on state highway known as the cheese factory. Cols. E. O. Walter and R. L. Shearer will conduct the sale with A D Maddiand from the Farmers and Merchants bank as clerk. Remember Red Cross roll Call Days Friday and Saturday of next week.
The Filer Wildcats travel to Twin Falls to face Nampa Warriors in the season closer at Lincoln field Friday at 3 30 in hopes of a record crowd. Filer defeated Gooding 29 to 6 last week and eyes a strong finish led by Lapp’s kicking and fast ends.
The Farmers Mutual Telephone company, long based in the King building on Main Street, is relocating to a newly completed innern building nearby. The transfer will be partial as equipment is moved and cables reconnected, with manager George Potter noting some complexity but smoother than expected due to proximity. The new quarters will provide comfortable space for the locally owned cooperative.

Donors receive tags stating they have given to the high school library. Supt. George B. Denman says the library will stay open at set times through the summer.
The Volunteer Fire department named L. D. Allen J. F. Mallory and Arthur Beholten to run the dance at Reytrees Root Garden Wednesday November 22. The committee will oversee fundraising for essential needs with broad local support expected.
Official canvass of the general election shows no change in results from the unofficial count, aside from small increases in votes for each candidate as precincts heard from. Grossman leading Dwight for coroner by 24, Moore ahead of Samuels for Governor, and Republicans retain control of both houses with 24 senate seats and 36 GOP in the House. Babcock and Lee win district judgeships with large pluralities in Twin Falls and surrounding counties.
A group of Southern Idaho editors toured with Idaho Power Company over a weekend returning home Tuesday. They praised the company's sincerity and willingness to share information, noted plans to stay ahead two years, and enjoyed talks at Twin Falls Shoshone and American Falls. The editors revived the old Idaho Press membership. a series of articles based on N D Read's impressions will begin next week.
