Since September 20, The Record adds 25 unsolicited new subscribers, with five readers per paper totaling 125 new readers. Over 50 renewals also shown. W T Ivey manager of the Mays fish hatchery in Snake River Canyon north of town injured his right forearm when the car engine kicked while cranking it on Tuesday morning. He was carried into town by neighbor W K R Hurst for medical attention.
An art exhibit organized by grade and high schools runs Thursday and Friday at the rural high school building with afternoon and evening hours. A Friday evening concert features a special program. 127 mounted pictures span sepia and watercolor works by Bonnier Van Dyke Corot Hofmann Sarge Raphael Millet in groups nature story religious historical famous men and women labor and allegorical. Tickets fund classroom pictures while pupils sell tickets to support their room picture funds. Short talks on artists and works are planned Friday night led by Dr. J O Gillian and others. a faculty town team basketball game is arranged as entertainment.
November weather remains pleasant with clear cool nights and no snow yet. A light drizzle Sunday night caused minor harvest delays as farmers continue work under typical November conditions.
A Filer Parent-Teacher Association meeting will be held at Central School this evening. An entertainment program is planned and several important matters will come before the group for discussion and a decision.

The class of 23 donated a memorial of about 20 volumes of notable literature funded by profits from the senior play. Wildcats beat Buhl high school 16 to 6 on the field. The senior assembly featured Grave Detwetter, a sophoore solo by Mr Byrne, and a 30 minute talk by Rev A G Pearson urging Christian citizenship. Wendell team to play Friday at 3 36. A Lincoln essay contest offers a Lincoln medal engraved on the bark. Six science books donated by the American Chemical Society added to the high school library. An art exhibit is sponsored locally.
W Homer Craven a 47 year old Twin Falls County banker and Hollister Bank president died near Filer after a pheasant hunting trip. The accidental gun discharge while he tried to lift his gun from a car caused fatal blood loss and shock. Funeral services led by Knights Templar were held at Twin Falls Methodist Church. Interment followed at Twin Falls Cemetery. He leaves a wife a son a daughter his father six brothers and other relatives.
Tax assessment notices are being mailed from Twin Palle County Assessor Claud Stewart. Personal property tax roll totals show 200 compared with 67,500 last year. A Rural Digh ethool balla ine exhibit and Friday program offer a small admission to raise funds for pictures. Football and school reports note Idaho students and local talents amid a Filer fight cartoonist rising reputation.
Airplane circled over town yesterday drawing interest as Twin Falls station kept watch. A Ripley frame building on Main Street was torn down for repainting. Armistice Day passed quietly with no public celebration and local schools and banks closed. Many pheasant hunters reported good luck and a town dunen event occurred at Gemroot. Wardens and prominent local figures including J L Smith sought recovery after surgery. A Nettleship became local manager of Nelson Ricks Creamery in Main Street building, succeeding T Tanner. Farmers Grain & Milling named Jerome resident A Rows new manager, replacing K Annett who shifts to Jerome. Annett remains recovering from a summer elevator accident. William Walker remains with the company. A 260-pound mountain goat was brought to town by Frank Schutt, attracting a crowd. the animal was one of two taken on a Sawtooth hunting trip, shot near the Salmon headwaters.
A Boise gathering drew dozens of attendees for a football feature at the O A C Idaho classic Saturday. The Vahid counts a 7 to 0 score as locals and guests from Filer and nearby families, including Newman, Doring, Naamar, Demman, O Tucker, Ef Byrne, Selidman, Graves, Graybill, Andrews, Shearer, Bauer, and Graves, plus twelve rural players.
Twin Palle defeated Haht Poratelio 28 to 19 in a football result. Blacktnot trailed with a 1 score for Haht Poratelio while Twin Palle secured the win with a strong offensive showing.
A hunting party reported the capture of a pure white pheasant described as amber in color. The bird was shot during the chase as the hunters pursued the quarry, with local observers noting its distinctive pale plumage.
The Kev Will H Bagtieh of Castleford will conduct morning service at the Baptist church Sunday at 11 o clock. An afternoon party was held at the home of Mre EA Beem Friday. Mre T L Cartney acted as hostess.
Coach Denman’s football warriors defeated Buhl on their gridiron Friday afternoon 16 to 0 with a late rally by Filer in the second half. A crowd watched as Buhl scored once in the first quarter while Wendell Neat was named in reports ahead of a Friday game against the Wildcats at 3 30.

Edward P. Gillis age 74 died at his son’s home in Idaho Falls after a period of illness caused by arteriosclerosis. He moved from Helena Montana to Idaho Falls earlier in the summer and will be buried in the public cemetery under F Drake’s arrangements. He leaves W D Gillis of Idaho Falls a daughter Betty Bergstrom of Casper and Clarke Gillis of Helena and travels from Montana to California to contact relatives.
Piler Volunteer Fire Depart plan annual ball this Tuesday night during Meat Week. Tickets priced 1.40 dollars, all proceeds to the firemen’s fund. Hosea Stout’s Gem State Four orchestra featured, promising a rare social treat. Mrs R K Dilligham and daughter expected home today from Pomona, Kansas.
