Memorial Day Services Planned Tuesday May 30
Plans are completed for a community Memorial Day observance Tuesday at 2 PM in the Gem theatre under Filer Post American Legion. A short address by Tr Norman Adkison of the Idaho Technical Institute at Pocatello will follow a quartet led by Leonard Wood. The Pilat Rural high school orchestra will provide music. Veterans of Civil War, World War, and Spanish American War have reserved seating. After indoor services, the assembly will go to the cemetery with cars provided for older veterans and a possible WWI march.

Indians to appear at Twin Falls county fair next September
Duck Valley Indian reservation inhabitants from the Plute and Shoshone tribes may join the Twin Falls county fair as an attraction if negotiations succeed. A Good Way to Kill Those Dandelions
The University of Wisconsin reports a new dandelion control using iron sulphate known as green vitrol. The spray mixes two pounds of iron sulphate per gallon of water and covers about 800 square feet per gallon. Applications are planned in May June and July as a maintenance practice.

Death of Lily May Young 3 Dies of Pneumonia
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon under the L. C. 8 order for Lily tian May Young age 3 daughter of Mr and Mrs Wesley Young who died Friday night at the family home three miles south of there from pneumonia. The grave was in the 1.0 O. O. F cemetery with J. DeWitt directing undertaker duties. Mr Young is recovering at the county hospital from rheumatism.

Public drinking fountain installed at Yakima and Main
With hot weather approaching the village installed a new public drinking fountain at the Yakima avenue and Main street intersection. The fountain replaces the older unit donated years ago by the Filer Woman's club and features a cast iron pipe section upended and filled with gravel to ensure proper drainage.
