The Piler Hotel on Yakim Avenue near Main Street, owned by N. A. Jackson, burned early Tuesday from an unknown origin. The 20 by 60 foot two story frame building housed 18 rooms and was insured for about 8000, with 3000 on the structure and its contents. Firefighters faced wind and water shortages, with no lives lost.

Village Adopts New Labor and Team Wage Scale
The village board, in an adjourned session on Thurway evening, adopted a new wage schedule for employers.
