Filer Plans First Beet Sugar Factory and Expansion

The Filer cooperative beet sugar company moves to build its first factory on the tract with three raetches planned. A second plant is aimed at Hansen-Kimberly district and a third by 1921. Stock subscriptions and acreage contracts rise daily as East buyers are arranged. Oswald Wilvon leads east preparations while a large haulage system using tractors and seven five ton trailers is adopted.

Twelve Year Ago Department gains reader interest

The Record notes a new Twelve Year Ago Department in The Filer Indepenient, founded February 14, 1908, and published by J. Warren White with H. H. Schuéman as local editor. It recalls thirteen issues, followed by The Filer Prime. William Hewes edits. Readers with copies of The Indo or Films are asked to return them to complete the file, to be returned to owners. A May launch of a Top Your Age series, drawn from The Filer Joy files, is planned, started by J. Tan mer in May 1910.

High School Play Delights Audiences and Firemen Fund

A notable high school production at Gem Theatre drew two full audiences, raising about 100 for the school fund. The cast included George Nettleton and To Rores Johns, with praise for Miss Margaret Gourtay and Miss Wilma Slotov. Gilbert Gulick Rites Mark Moron Resident's Passing

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Gilbert Gulick a Maron resident who died Monday from cancer at age 63 Six American Legion pallbearers and local veterans attended He was a World War I veteran born in Urbana Illinois October 29 1889 and served in the Tenth Cavalry He married Mary Brownfield in 1880 and they had twelve children Surviving are wife six sons Warren Edward Charles Graver Judd and Janet Peters three daughters Mia Hoevy Williams and Cora Walters plus relatives in Moran Arizona and Loris Washington

Meredith, president of Hohe Pari Development, with HQ in Hubl, was nominated by President Wily son to be Secretary of Agriculture to succeed DL Whouston who will leave the Treasury. A Twin City of Des Moines, Iowa, Meredith is seen as a Midwest contender with ties to the Associated Advertising Club of America and past roles on the treasury profite board and the federal reserve bank in Chicago.
