Start Work Friday on New Oregon Short Line Railroad

Announcement confirms construction will begin Friday on the Oregon Short Line railroad south from Rogerson to Wells. Utah Construction Co. is the contractor for the road bed with 12 miles to be graded before January 1 to meet Interstate Commerce Commission requirements. General Manager H V Platt stated the plan to hold ceremonies at first dig, likely in Contact Nevada.

Diehl Leonard and Shearer New Filer District Board

Diehl George Leonard and Ray L. Shearer were elected commissioners of the Filer highway district at a Saturday election to succeed HH Weaver van G Lincoln and L G Hill with terms starting January 1. 161 votes cast. A write in for H Murphey drew 83 votes, near the top. All new directors are ranchers from distinct parts of the district. Arthur F E Anderson is secretary treasurer.

Fourth Meeting Filer P T A To Be Held Thursday

The fourth monthly meeting of the Fiter P T A will be next Thursday evening, December 13. A committee hosts the event with Miss Iva Oman delivering a brief address. Purged of Contempt Charge for Guy H. Shearer

Judge O P Duvall of the probate court ruled Guy H Shearer is purged of contempt in a case brought by Boise Payette Lumber of Twin Falls. The dispute involved attaching funds during a sale on the FE R Waltz farm and a bank certificate of deposit obtained under protest, with the bank later refusing payment. Bothwell Chapman represented the lumber company and the sheriff. the Monday trial concluded with Shearer cleared.

Bonding Company Sued Over 5000 Bond Claim

In district court at Twin Falls Sultsgatest Lion Honding and Surety company and Frank George Lechletter faced a suit by Mutual Building and Loan association to recover 5000 under a bond for Lechletter as secretary.
