Miss Eleanor Bromm oldest daughter of Henry Bromm and Mr Floyd Schilling of Highmore were married in Duncan South Dakota on Monday morning last week. Rev Pine Boehm a bride’s niece officiated. Schilling a licensed embalmer with the McLaughlin Co of Highmore. The bride has taught at the Mission School in Highmore for years and is held in high esteem. The NEWS joins friends in wishing them happiness and prosperity.
Lightning tore through north of town during a Saturday storm, blowing fences down and ruining fruit trees and some tobacco. A man in Sullivan Indiana wrecked his car after a bumble bee caused him to lose control. King Ferdinand of Romania reportedly went to the front after mobilizing his troops. At Owensboro fair stock port a seven game eleven game saw a man win 400 then buy a Ford. Citizens await Congress and President Wilson on railroad labor talks over an eight hour day and overtime pay. A strike order was issued to four brotherhoods with a vote in favor of a general strike effective September 4 at 1 a.m.
