Hong Wing twenty one was convicted of felonious assault after threatening importer Kong Chong Wing with a note demanding three hundred dollars in Chinese. He then attacked with a knife and smashed his jaw until police intervened sending Wing to jail and the importer to hospital.
Mrs Ella Levy of Chicago swallowed a seven inch hatpin three months ago and lived. Surgeons removed the pin after it penetrated the stomach wall in three places. Doctors said she would have died in 24 hours without treatment.
