A gasoline explosion at nine o'clock Thursday night ignited a blaze at the Steam laundry. Albert Hargis and Miss Amelis Freshley suffered serious burns to their faces and hands as they were engulfed in flames. Freshley escaped to the street. Hargis extinguished himself in cinders outside. The laundry suffered heavy fire and water damage, while machinery remained largely intact.
