Death of Another Pioneer Ignatz Bosler Succumbs at 83

Ignatz Bosler aged 83 died at his son in law Joseph Deetle’s home in Owensboro Kentucky early Monday. Born in Germany in 1824 he traveled to the United States with his brother Simon and lived in Pittsburg before moving to Mariah Hill Ferdinand and later Owensboro. He leaves seven children and two sons predeceased him. The body was brought to Ferdinand for burial in St Ferdinand cemetery. Sympathy from the bereaved family is extended.

Explosion Destroys Fontanet Town and Mills

Fontanet Indiana faced total devastation after nine twenty five explosive blasts at the Dupont Powder Company plant. The blast killed twenty five to forty five and injured over six hundred. every building was levelled and residents sheltered under tents guarded by state troops. Martial law was proclaimed as the shock felt miles away sparked comparisons to an earthquake.
