Indiana State Teachers Association elects J. G. Collicott president
At its closing session in Indianapolis the Indiana State Teachers Association elected J. G. Collicott superintendent of the Indianapolis public schools as president. Other officers include J. B. Pearcy as secretary treasurer and several vice presidents and committee members. Collicott, a Greensburg native born in 1870, came to Indianapolis in 1911 and has led the schools since 1918. The assembly also debated teacher qualifications, pensions, equal suffrage, and a reform agenda for high school standards.
