Aged Lady of Mariah Hill dies after long illness
Regins Yellig, beloved wife of Joseph Yellig, aged 70, died Friday after tuberculosis. Her funeral was held Monday at nine at Mariah Hill cemetery with Rev. Andrew Bauer officiating. Survived by husband, three daughters, five sons, a brother, and seven grandchildren. A large crowd attended to pay respects.

He notes inclement weather did not stop a Liberty Guards dance drawing 188 tickets, with two returning on the special train to Huntingburg. A recital by the Academy music and elocution class is set for May 4 at 3:00 PM in St Ferdinand school hall. Admission 15 cents, no reserved seats, tickets at Mathias Olinger’s.

Town readers get early news while the Evan ville Quarter promotes local ads. The Thalians met at Leonard Maller’s home. Ferm de Riqueval advanced 4200 yards and captured 47 officers and 1494 men as two enemy divisions fell. The 30th Division attacked on October 38 9 10 11, gained 17600 yards, took many towns and farms. October 17 13 and 19 saw 9000 yards gained with six officers and 412 men captured. The division moved to Reilly Training Area near Amiens for replacements before orders for return to combat.

Lee's Car Flips Near Haysville After Hill Climb
Lee's car tried Potts hill near Haysville with a Ford. The machine balked and George Hoffmann offered help. Hoffmann was injured when the car turned into a ditch during descent. Lee moved the car and returned it to the road after frost damaged early garden crops and fruit. A cameo pin lost near the church, finder to Mrs. Bertha Sauer.

Mrs. Leo Gehlhausen nee Ida Reutmann dies at home last Saturday morning at 9 30 of pneumonia after eight weeks illness. She was 24. Survived by husband, mother, two sisters Alvina and Charlotte Reutmann, and half sister Mrs Henry Eversmann. Interment at St Ferdinand cemetery after eight o'clock mass. Father John officiated.

Forty Four Soldiers Lead Communion Procession
