Henry Timmermann received word that his brother Diettrich Timmermann of Cincinnati died last Sunday after a stroke of paralysis. The 70 year old former school teacher and township official had lived in the building now occupied by Ferdinand National Bank and left here sixteen years ago. He leaves a wife three daughters and one son.
The Indiana Brewing Association of Marion Indiana will halt beer production as county local option laws abolish saloons in Grant county and other communities. The bulk of business was in Grant county with agencies in Bluffton Decatur Mt. Vernon Ohio, now dry. Plant will close except bottling and kegging. beer aged six months by September 4. Agencies of Terre Haute and Hester will discontinue in September. law bans sale in Grant county unless shipped to wet areas first. Legal action against the state over liquor rights is expected, with a decision likely by mid June.

While en route to church last Sunday morning, Clem Balman Sr slipped on a frost covered plank near town and fell down a bank, twisting the right ankle and breaking both bones above the joint. Dr A G Wollemann attended, redressed and bandaged the injuries.
