Marriage of Otto Spayd and Cornelis Hassfurther
The St. Ferdinand church hosted the marriage of Otto Spayd and Miss Cornelis Hassfurther on Wednesday morning. Attendants were Miss Nellie Bromm Julius Hassfurther and Albert Spayd. A reception followed at the bride’s parent’s home and guests traveled by auto to the ceremony and reception locations. The couple departed for a honeymoon via Huntingburg to Cincinnati Carrollton and Louisville. Otto is a son of Mrs. Jacob Spayd of Mariah Hill and works as a clerk at J. A. Sondermann and Bartley Brog. He belongs to Jaspar Council K of C and Ferdinand members joined. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Henry Bromm. They will reside in Mathias Olinger's house behind the bridegroom’s saloon after returning.

George Bauer of Jasper Indiana pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to grand larceny for stealing a watch from Hutched and Steinkamp jewelry store. He was sentenced to 1 to 14 years and fined sixty dollars but the execution was suspended on promise of good behavior and abstaining from theft or excess. Bauer retains liberty pending good conduct.
