Dixie Highway plans widen with two eastern western routes

The Dixie Central Highway and Dixie Jackson Highway associations announce active promotion of a permanent highway from the Straits of Mackinac to Miami via Chicago Indianapolis Chattanooga Atlanta and Jacksonville with eastern and western branches meeting in Chattanooga and Kingston. The eastern route runs through Cumberland Gap and Knoxville toward Atlanta then McDonough while the western path goes via Louisville Mammoth Cave Bowling Green Nashville and Murfreesboro toward Chattanooga.

The state Grand Army of the Republic session in Marion unanimously backs President Wilson foreign policy. Lewis King of Franklin is named department commander while A B Crampton retires. the Woman's Relief Corps also elects officers.
