Mob Attacks Defeated Man in Poecomo City

June 13 report says Ned Watson, a Black man, was defeated and struck by a mob while in police custody after a fatal assault on his employer Samuel S. Barnes near Kings Creek in Somerset County. The Black man escaped but was captured. a mob attempted lynching as officers intervened. In St Louis, Thomas W. Niedringhaus was re elected chairman of the Republican State Committee with John H. Rothwell as vice chairman Amadee B. Cole treasurer and Joe McCoy secretary. A Philadelphia note mentions a boy named Chirley F. Muth and his mother hurt, with a seven year old involved.
