The St. Meinrad Abbey ordained 13 priests 19 deacons and sub-deacons and conferred 12 minor orders across Sunday Monday and Tuesday led by Bishop Chartrand of Indianapolis. Seminarians named include August Riehl Tell City Albert Schad Madison George Ziemer Evansville and others with multiple ordination recipients listed by hometown. Hundreds visited Ferdinand to witness the ceremonies.

Thomas Duerringer an 83 year old Civil War veteran from Fulda died last Friday morning of a stroke. He served in Co A 60th Indiana Infantry and leaves sons Mike Joseph Andrew and daughters Wendolin Regina Kunigunda. Funeral was Monday at eight with Rev Father Joseph.
