In a decisive vote, Rock Road residents approve the ballot measure by a large margin, supporting the proposed road project and its funding. The outcome reflects broad local support for infrastructure renewal and improved transportation options.
A sweeping 15 vote majority approved a roads measure last Saturday, spurring hope for better travel and local growth. Businessmen and farmers backed the plan, with a Senninger’s hall meeting featuring Dr. John P. Salb of Jasper and local speakers urging improvement and potential extensions across the township.
Monday lists Marg Fischer and 4 Juha Fischer. Tuesday includes Lous Hoing and 4 M. Senninger. Wednesday shows 2M Wilmecs and H Wilmern. Thursday lists Catharine Bolte and Carolina Mueller. Friday features Theodore Helming and Bernardine Ruhe. Saturday names Jos Everamann and Mary Tretter. Sunday presentation by Congregation.
Mrs Katherine Fisher and many Rickelmans and Mullers visited Henry Denning of St Meinrad Sunday. They praised his home and enjoyed a fine meal and drinks. Next day Henry was toasted with cheer and a toast mention. A 22 h p traction engine built for Albert Bohnert of Jasper was shipped to Kansas. The engine rim faces are 26 inches. A F&E combined writer and protector is praised for checks. Mrs Joe Stetter of St Anthony celebrated her 50th birthday with neighbors and friends.
A lengthy roster lists numerous visitors and locals in Jasper including J A Beckmann, Miss Anna Hopf, Miss Minnie Kuntz, Mrs P B Logadon and Feanvis Haake, with many others from Evansville, Louisville, Detroit, and Chicago. Events include visits, machine work, and a bank fixture bid in Jasper.
Randolph County plans a county pageant in October as Culver Academy outlines July events. Aurora and Petersburg also schedule pageants in October and August respectively. Bartholomew and Tipton counties prepare exhibits and log cabin museum space. Perry and Knox areas advance Hoosier town pageants. Porter County plans a September 28 celebration at Valparaiso with a grand pageant and community events. State organizers seek a multi day pageant in Indianapolis.
Dubois Circuit Court adjourned to the October term. Divorces granted in Parson vs Parson with $100 alimony and name restoration to Margaret Harbison. Jury trial in Fisher vs Nester, costs to defendant. Several notes and judgments listed including Dall and Abell notes and Dabola County State Bank vs Margaretha Miller with principal and attorney fees.
Renus Reinacker played piano for the dance at St Anthony on July 4. Court expenses noted in DuBois County records.
