Fire destroys home and outbuildings at St Henry
Geo Begle of St Henry lost his two story house shed and stable to a fire last Sunday night. The blaze started from a defective flue. Household goods were saved in time. A fruit jar containing 790 dollars hidden on the second floor could not be saved.

Land available under homestead law with water charges set at $30 per acre paid in 5 to 10 annual installments. quick entry payment of $3.50 due at entry with second due March 1 1910. Model rural villages planned every six miles, 20 total, keeping farms within three miles of post offices and schools. Expected crops include alfalfa sugar beets and potatoes with favorable hay yields and prices between five and fifteen dollars per ton. Sugar beets promise profits with an expected five year contracts on 6 000 acres and a potential sugar factory. Dairy prospects strong with Augusta creamery since 1907 and several others nearby. An ordinary ranch garden near Simms in 1905 yielded net profits per acre from vegetables.
