Tragic Death Of Lena Knust In Louisville Fire

Lena Knust eighteen servant girl of Ferdinand Indiana died after alcohol lamp explosion at 8 L Dinkelspiel residence in Louisville. She was en route home to celebrate Easter with parents Clem Knust Jr and Clementine when flames engulfed her clothing. Parents brought body home for burial in St Ferdinand cemetery amid family sympathy and community sorrow.

Special Train to Ferdinand for Washington's Birthday

A special train will leave Huntingburg at 1 30 p m on Washington's birthday with a brass band to Ferdinand where a large Huntingburg crowd is expected. The Ferdinand Railway Co first anniversary may bring Hugo C Robert the receiver to speak. The school hall at Ferdinand will host speeches by prominent men. All are urged to attend the events at the Ferdinand school building in the afternoon.

Night Ride Accident Injures Doctor Knapp

Dr V Knapp was riding to see a patient when his cart toppled after frightening the horse. He fell and was run over, the horse bolted homeward. The doctor arrived drenched in sweat but suffered no injuries. The horse returned later.

Dynamite explosion rattles town after early wedding move

Lawrence Gesser, married two weeks, moved to his brother’s farm near John Seger’s place on Monday. That night heavy dynamite blasts rocked several buildings in town, as residents felt the tremors from the explosions.
