Clemens Lueken Sr. born 1839 in Lingen Germany died after brief illness at 73 years in Ferdinand Indiana. A long time educator he taught forty seven years and held the Luckey school house record forty four years. Survived by two daughters sister Herman Lueken and numerous relatives.

Injury Fatal After Mardi Gras Slip in Huntingburg

Mrs. John A. Wood wife of the Southern Railway agent in Huntingburg died at her home Monday morning after a brief illness and a sidewalk fall following a Mardi Gras dance. She and her husband had attended the event. she slipped on the depot area on return, suffering internal injuries leading to death. Remains were laid to rest at Velpen Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband and two children.
