Angel of Death Passes at 83 in Mariah Hill
Mrs. Peter Lehnen of Mariah Hill died quietly at home Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock after a short illness. She was 83 years old and survived by one son Frank, who recently moved to Chicago, and three daughters Mrs. Tillie Snyder Terre Haute Mrs. Sophia Arnold and Mrs. Enos Bosler of Mariah Hill. Interment was in Mariah Hill cemetery. The notice also urges Ferdinand township voters to support local candidates in the upcoming primary, noting many believe it is time for a county office holder from the township.

Boy Drowns In Cistern Near Haysville Home
Earl Frank ten year old son of Fred Frank of Haysville accidentally drowned Saturday afternoon while drawing water from a cistern about 200 feet from the home. The 18 foot deep cistern held about 14 feet of water. Coroner Salb of Jasper conducted an inquest and ruled accidental drowning. The cistern had no pump or cover on top, only boards.
