Death in Evansville after quarrel ends in homicide
George Diers of St Henry was killed Thursday morning in Evansville after a street quarrel with a man named Joe Kroeger. Eyewitness Eva Martin saw Kroeger strike Diers. Kroeger fled as Diers collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage caused by a blow. Four witnesses testified to the scene and investigators moved the body to Schlaefer's morgue. A coroner's verdict declared death from a cerebral hemorrhage.

Sister M Philomena Ritzert of the Benedictine Order died Saturday November 28 at 1 45 AM after a period of grave illness. Born 1873 in Caborn Indiana she was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Ritzert and entered the Convent of the Immaculate Conception Ferdinand Indiana spending most of her life in retirement. She is survived by two brothers and three sisters.
