Relatives and friends were shocked by the sudden death of Mrs Henry Zink on Tuesday. She felt well in the morning but grew dizzy, stopped at a neighbor's, then returned home. She suffered convulsions from noon until her death about 6 pm and leaves a husband parents and siblings. Interment was at St Ferdinand's cemetery Thursday at 7 am.
Mrs Barbara Wagner, born in Switzerland about 1837, lived in Ferdi nand and Mariah Hill before settling in the area. She leaves three sons Father Vincent O S B Rev Charles Wagner Fred Wagner one daughter Sister Ignatia a sister Mary Wigger and a brother Joe Wigger. Her remains rest in Mariah Hill cemetery after a long life marked by family service and business work.
The Verdinand Railway Co held a Tuesday night meeting and will arrange a subsequent discussion with Evansville Eastern traction officials to review the proposed route. Prominent St. Meinrad businessmen may join, predicting strong profits from freight and passenger traffic with little opposition.
From Louisville Ky on July 26 a party of six will depart August 1 for Grayson Springs. They plan a week to ten day stay at the summer resort before Miss Mamie Drach returns to Verdinand to spend a few weeks with her parents and friends.
Wm. D. Haywood was found not guilty of complicity in the murder of former Idaho Governor Frank Stennenberg after a twenty one hour jury deliberation last Saturday night. The trial drew national attention and lasted several weeks.

The Reds lost their first game of the season to the Jasper Heralds on Sunday. Gardner pitched well for the Heralds while Reds’ hitters managed six hits. Numerous locals and visitors from Jasper St Meinrad Louisville and Bristow were seen at dances games and social visits throughout the period with many returning home midweek.
Henry Hollinden of St Louis visits friends here. Mrs Sauer and Miss Rosa Bickwermer return. Richard Schulte of Louisville formerly St Meinrad visits. Several locals travel to Velpen Springs and St Meinrad for gatherings and a funeral at Mariah Hill. Others attend in town events and repairs, including John Sternberg from St Anthony.
R M Milburn and family departed for Bloomington on Monday amid reports that five or six local offices and businesses have been burglarized in recent weeks with considerable money taken. Prosecution attorney Bomar Traylor returned from Pike Circuit Court as the Herald notes local activity.
Ferdinand township trustee Wa. Helning announces Saturday office hours for township business at the Ferdinand office. Citizens with business to transact are urged to present it on Saturdays. Dubois County Indiana.
Real estate transfers listed by the Argus show Bernard Grove selling lots 134 and 139 in Ferdinand for 2000.00 to Ida M. Quante, with additional transfers including Mary Snyder and Frances Sunderman to Jos M. Sanger, and Mehling to Mehling at Ferdinand lot 211. Also noted are Caroline Arensman et al selling part of Wagner's addition in Huntingburg and a partial lot transfer.
