Frank Tretter and sons Lothar and Christian along with Fred Hoffmann and son Fred John Heilers Joe Gehlhausen and Mathias Olinger attended the tractor plowing demonstration in Oakland City Tuesday. Frank Tretter John Heilers and Fred Hoffmann ordered Fordson tractors for use next month. An immense crowd watched the contest with about 900 automobiles lined near the field. Demuth and Son South View Farm shipped two loads of fine lambs to the city stock yards last Saturday. Henry Oaer bought John Miller’s farm for his son Ed who plans to move there soon.

Lost Leg on The Day Armistice Was Signed
Private Frank Seyfert of Dale on a 20 day furlough spent Monday in town with relatives. He served in the 2nd regiment regular army and lost his right leg in battle on November 11 the last day of the big war. He is stationed at Camp Dodge Iowa receiving treatment for his wound not yet healed.
