Local ads boast neckwear curtains rugs and stoves while mentioning Halley s comet weather and house cleaning. Also reports births accidents and moves in Spencer County with notices of upcoming fair dates and local business promotions.
A long list of residents and guests visiting or traveling to towns such as Jasper Huntingburg Evansville Indianapolis and Louisville includes Rosa Seufert Joe Leinenbach Albert Leppert Frank Moeller Alex Hoffmann Jos Havlik Tony Scheefer Philip Schwope Ben Tretter Anton Buschketter Tony Lindenschmidt Ben Buehning Theron Rickelmann Xavier Wirthwien and many more. The record also notes a wedding event in Evansville a birthday surprise for Mrs Hor men Hoppenjans and an excursion contract announcement by the Concordia Society of Louisville for Ferdinand on June 12.

Each couple will live on local farms or in Louisville Kentucky where the groom works.
Proceedings of the Dubois Circuit Court list multiple cases with continuances and bond details. Notable items include bonds for State v John E Owen and Albert Fuhrman, admission of Amos Niehaus to the bar, and venue changes to Pike and Warrick counties. Trial by court and jury outcomes are noted with various defendants and sureties.
After jurors were sworn the defendant confessed guilty to a charge and was released on good behavior. The next day he appeared intoxicated and the court revoked parole, sentencing him to Indiana State Prison at Michigan City for one to eight years. The docket lists multiple cases including pleas of guilty with fines, cases sent to Crawford and Pike counties, and a bridge receiver order, along with several marriage licenses from Huntingburg and Schnellville.
Spite of threatening weather a fair crowd attended the social at the school hall last Sunday. The event raised 80.40 for the church. Bertha Rickelmann and others donated items including a sofa pillow and tableware while Cornelia Beckmann supplied a coffee pot and Clara Meyer contributed drawn work. Ferdinand National Bank and Reckelhoff Muller provided a gold piece in a sealed package. The society thanks all who assisted and donated.
Jasper Herald previews the four act drama Uncle Rube presented by students of Jasper College at St Josephs hall last Sunday, praising a strong cast led by Simon Smailey Mark Grey Gordon Grey Upson Asterbilt and Ike with Millicent Lee Marie Bunn and Taggs. The college orchestra and a Paducah comedian add to a successful show amid good audience response and weather-related hesitation.
