Court notes from Jasper Indiana list trials and outcomes since last week. Cases include selling liquor to minors, Sunday liquor sales, public intoxication third offense, and fines from 50 to 100 dollars with costs. Several defenses and continuances due to illness are noted. divorces and damages cases proceed or are dismissed as filed.
The issue notes a possible state of war with Germany amid the Aztec sinking by a German U boat. It reports President Wilson's Congress address urging declaration of war, navy readiness, troop mobilization for 600000 men, and full cooperation with allied governments. The war cabinet is in session.
A March examination lists sixty successful graduates with scores ranging from 49 to 93 and Alma Burger of Bainbridge Township as county honors leader. The report notes factory progress delays and severe street conditions, plus an upcoming wedding between Verena Muth and Ed Hedinger.

Miss Francea Mehling spent a few days this week at Evanaville. Leo Snyder of Huntingburg was in town on business Wednesday. Frank Roos visited his father at Mariah Hill Monday afternoon. Jim Hale of Doolittles Mills trans acted business in town Tuesday. Robert Uebelher of Troy visited relatives and friends here that Sunday. J H Beckmann spent Saturday and Sunday at Louisville on business and pleasure. Herb Mueller was at Jasper last Sunday night and returned Monday morning. Ernst Adkins of Birdseye was a guest at the home of Dr A F Gugsell Sunday. Dr W Knapp returned home from Evansville Wednesday night and is much improved. Albert Horny and Jacob Wuetcher of Huntingburg were in town on business Monday. Miss Evangeline Gugsell went to Jasper Saturday night and returned home Sunday morning. Atty Robert Armstrong and several others of Huntingburg were in town on legal business Tuesday. County Commissioner John Stenf tenager of near Jasper was in town on business Tuesday night. Edmund Haesfurther and Miss Susie Kunkler spent last Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs Alois Vogl. Co Superintendent Wm Melchior of Jasper was in town Thursday on business pertaining to our schools. Miss Lucille Beckmann returned home from Louisville Saturday night after a few days visit with relatives. Miss Joese Harris of Mt. Vernon started telepde at the convent this Friday.
The town pleads for input on how many acres each household will cultivate with free tomato plants to be provided by the canning company. Contact Edward J. Jasper Indiana April 4 Dubois County Board of Commissioners meets for a lengthy quarterly session. 140 claims allowed and officers fees totals listed. Liquor licenses granted to Edward Busch and Anton Dean. Rock road material bids awarded to Traylor and Krempp Co and J B Speed. Bridge and road extension bids to be opened in a special session April 14.
John Beckmann Elisabeth Heidel and Pru Congregation report a work accident at J H Beckmann Saver plant. Charles J Metager suffered a severe cut when his right hand entered a saw last Friday morning. Fingers severed except index and thumb. treated by Dr George A McLane and healing, with hope to save remaining finger.
