Speed Dash Killed at Riverhead Auto Derby

The Riverhead Suffolk county derby on the new course saw J. Bates killed and Lytle gravely injured when an Apperson car skidded near Mattituck. Louis Chevrolet won the Class B race in a Buick after Mrs. D. W. Loft halted racing. The accident halted play as doctors treated the wounded and Bates died at the Kirkus home.
