Dr Cook arrives in Copenhagen asserting the most accurate data proves he reached the Pole. He declares completion of the voyage and presents his findings to authorities and press. Local officials await independent verification of navigation logs and measurements.
Dr. Frederick A. Cook arrives in Copenhagen aboard the Hans Egede after a polar voyage. He says he left behind an American flag and a diary with observations to support his claim of reaching the pole. He describes near-starvation ordeals, musk ox hunts, and two lost teeth from a hard fight.
Dr. Cook recounts the polar attempt with Eskimos, detailing harsh conditions, hunger from bears and musk ox, and the moment he planted the Stars and Stripes at the pole. He recalls April twenty first as pivotal, and defends his diary and voyage against doubters.
A New York theatrical manager sent a cable to Dr. Cook offering 250000 for 250 lectures detailing his experiences in the far north. The offer was disclosed in the Sept 5 despatch.
