No Commission for Falconer in Arkansas

Judeo W. Staith reports he cannot serve on the State Highway Commission due to other duties including drafting a civil service code for the Commission of Fr. Smith. Judge Greenfield Quarks of Helena is appointed to succeed Judge Falconer. A. V. Tax officials vow strict auto license enforcement

Little Rock May 16 Commissioner R G Dye says auto license law will be strictly enforced and soon delinquent owners may have cars seized or sold. He estimates about 7500 licenses are unpaid in the state with about twenty new delinquents daily, subject to arrest by sheriff constable policeman or city marshal.

Omer Davis Sentenced to Hang at August Court Term

A court in Arkansas sentences Omer Davis to death for murder in the first degree. The judge orders execution by hanging on August 14, 1913, at sunset, to be carried out by the sheriff of Washington County after the appeal period.
