At the fifty fourth annual Illinois Homeopathic Medical Association convention in Chicago doctors advocated wholesale tonsil removal to prevent tuberculosis. They argued tonsils breed microbes and cited cases where tonsil removal followed by pathology reduced signs of incipient tuberculosis.
