Omaha Cyclone Devastates City Killing Scores

Omaha received a devastating cyclone that left 200 plus dead, 1000s homeless, and millions in property damage. The disaster prompted Fort Crook troops and state forces to aid wreckage removal while a relief fund formed. Gov Morehead and Mayor Dahlman appealed for federal aid. Local rail line donations and city officials moved to accelerate relief efforts.

Death of Sam Uel Bromwell

Samuel Bromwell died near the university from pneumonia at age six. The body lay ready for his daughter from Colo49 who arrived this morning. The funeral is set for 9:30 tomorrow and interment will be at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Deceased was an upstanding and honest man, mourned by many friends.

Hon Abner Files Passes Away

He served three terms as county treasurer in the eighties and twice as State Auditor, later seeking a governor’s race.
