Gas Strike Near Springdale Sparks Local Hope

The Morgan farm near Springdale reports a natural gas discovery at 185 feet during waste drilling. Washington County Teachers Institute Passes Resolution

Fire at plumbing plant causes heavy damage on Center Street

A noon blaze at the plumbing plant of James L. Sketon started when a worker dropped a burning match onto inflammable waste in the basement. Firefighters confined the flames to the lower part of the building. Damage estimated at two to five hundred dollars.
