Trapper Shot 10 Death in Skiff in Negro Arkansas City

Louis Pfeifer of St. Louis was shot and killed while in a skiff at Catfish Point near the Mississippi side.Harry Pfeifer, his son, and Frank Hinings of Catfish Point were involved in moving a shanty boat. Two men one white and one a negro fired on Hinings as they returned from the bank, killing Pfeifer and prompting a pursuit that left many questions unanswered. The motive remains unclear as the town mourns the slaying and investigators press for clues while the Pfeifer family awaits word from St. Louis.

Suspect Burglar Seeks Transfer After West Fork Theft
