A brief session of the Turkish Balkan Peace Conference in London progressed toward real negotiation. Dr Daneff, Bulgarian chief delegate, says the Turks rejected the allies territorial proposals and presented the Porte counter proposal, which the Balkan allies asked for time to study.
Staunton Virginia marks Woodrow Wilson birthday with a large crowd as twenty five thousand visitors greet him. He meets Frank Ware and Dr. M Fraser and plans a speech at the church of his father where he was baptized.
George D. Locke, president of several Arkansas and Missouri firms, arrives at the Hotel Marion to secure a charter for the Fayetteville Gas and Electric Co. The syndicate controls transport, utilities, timber lands, and banking in north Arkansas. The firm shows $200000 paid in capital. Locke aims for grand treasurer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks at Rochester in July and has long lodge ties.
Atty. Gen Hal L Norwood will retire mid January and stay in Little Rock to open a law office. Assistant AG Henry Rector will move to Fort Smith to launch a private practice and is a leading candidate for Western District District Attorney.
Washington Dec 27 Speaker Camp Clark voiced anger over insinuations by newspapers that his opposition to William J Bryan would harm loyalty to the Wilson administration if Bryan joins the Cabinet. Clark stresses unity with Wilson, cites past support, and denies plans to oppose Bryan.
Arkansas corporations list new chartered concerns in Little Rock dated December 28. Fayetteville Gas and Electric Co of Fayetteville with capital stock $200,000 all subscribed. North Arkansas Tie and Timber Co of Leslie with $4,000 capital, all subscribed. Ed Mays president A Hanes vice president RK Dowd secretary treasurer.
The Indianapolis jury found 38 of 40 defendants guilty on all counts in the dynamite conspiracy trial, with Buckley of Davenport and Seiffert of Milwaukee cleared. The verdict, read by the court clerk, sent captors and families into mixed relief and prompted a possible appeal move next Monday.
New York December 27 Henry L Williams Minnesota coach praised 1912 football rules before the National Collegiate Athletic Association session as head of the rules committee The association met with delegates from about 90 colleges and universities Lieut Tl Neilly West Point was the only new committee member elected The nominative committee selected a full slate with Hugo Bezdek and Frank Castleman among those named as district representatives and officers.
A national expert writes from Littl Rock that he spent a day at Jonesboro tracing water-fowl shipments. He notes 125000 ducks shipped in two months and daily barrels shipments of 15 to 40. He praises Arkansas work and hopes the coming legislature enacts a sound time law and enforcement ward.
Rev. H. H. Thoma of Glenwood and Wonilble recounted wrestling a buck with a pocket knife on a sleety hillside between Mount Ida and Glenwood. He killed the animal, delayed a Christmas Eve wedding, then married Miss Lilian Anderson and W. R. Burt Christmas night after returning to Mount Ida.
Secretary Mary W. Hodge appointed a committee of awards to select a flag design and scheduled a meeting for January 2 at Hotel Marion. Members include Maj. Clifton Breckinridge, J. H. Reynolds, Mrs. Joe T. Robinson, Mrs. George W. Donaghey, J. N. Heiskell, Mrs. Jo Prauenthal, Mrs. A. W., W. C., George B. Rose, Judge Jacop Trieber, Mrs. Julia McAlmer Noel, George J. Cook, Dallas T. Herndon, Cole Y. Cook, Junius Jordan, Pineluff, Mhoer BK Clarke, and others.

New York December 28. Despite missing William Rockefeller officials led by Sergeant Charles Riddell and deputies pressed the search to compel the millionaire to testify before the Pujo committee. Riddell vowed to serve him even if it takes a year, while Standard Oil officers denied knowledge of Rockefeller's whereabouts.
Tom Dole was captured by deputy Lou English at Hubbard and Habberton while visiting home for Christmas. English received a $50 reward for the capture. He had also recently earned $50 for turning a deserter from the army over to authorities in Little Rock.
Dr. G M Calhoun of the University of Texas will address the American Philological Association in Washington on Documentary Frauds in Litigation in Athens. He cites widespread forgery of wills private documents and official papers in fourth and fifth century Athens and notes difficulties proving authenticity. Tommy Had Been Busy.
