Colorado Strikers In Pitched Battle
Word reached here at midnight that a pitched battle occurred at Segundo Colorado fuel and iron camp between about thirty striking Italian miners and seven company guards. Three strikers were shot and two will probably die.

Two Men Sentenced for Stamp Robbery in Omaha
In Omaha on December 6, James D. Smith and James Gaughan were each sentenced to three years in the penitentiary for robbing an old man, Henry Hermann, last September. The raid yielded only a 2-cent postage stamp.

Roosevelt Declines to Interfere in Colorado Strike
President Roosevelt refused to intervene in the Telluride district mining strike in Colorado. Senators Tellers and Patterson presented an appeal from the Western Federation of Miners urging federal action. The president said US rights and authority have not been invaded and he will not intervene at this time.
