Mars Falls Into Ocean After Aeroplane Collapse

An aviator flying from Sheepshead Bay to Manhattan Beach, New York, was forced down when a strong wind caused his plane to collapse into the lower bay. He was rescued by the tug Hustler and uninjured aside from a shaken frame. The wrecked craft was recovered by a lighter near Craven Shoal buoy.

Fayetteville Republican nominee denied filing for prosecutor post

John Mayes, Republican nominee for Prosecuting Attorney in Fayetteville district, failed to place his name on the ticket after Attorney General Norwood ruled it impossible. Low Mortality Rate Reported for Summer

Undertakers records show an extremely low mortality rate for the present summer. For three months ending tomorrow there were 17 deaths, mainly due to senility or infants, covering additions to the city and some transients. At this rate the mortality would be 68 for a population around eight to nine thousand, or seven tenths of one percent.
