Battle of Stonington Centenary Celebrated in Town

Stonington marks the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Stonington with a planned program including parades with military units, speeches by Gov. Veterinarians Adjourn London Congress

The International Veterinary Congress adjourned in London after sessions starting Monday August 3. The American delegation led by Dr Adolph Eichhorn of the U S Bureau of Animal Industry prepared to depart for the United States, having visited numerous European cities during the congress.

Minimum wage rules issued for Washington telephone workers

The Industrial Welfare Commission set a 0 weekly minimum for adult telephone and office staff and 6 cent for under 18 workers, with 6 am to 9 pm limits for youths in telephone and related services. The ruling also covers messenger, mercantile, and parcel delivery workers and enforces hours for those under 18. Additionally a Davis Cup prelim in Philadelphia and Atlantic City dog show prizes are noted.
