A northbound passenger train from the Kuwait Southern collided with a Missouri North Arkansas gasoline motor car near Tiptenford ten miles south of Joplin. About 200 to 300 members from across the country spent the day in business sessions and sightseeing. California and Colorado debated host city for 1915 convention with Denver or Colorado Springs favored by Colorado. The convention closes tomorrow. Business Men's Club backs Chautauqua effort in county

Rev M N Walano urged support for the Chautauqua to be held August 12 to 18 at Winkleman’s. The club pledged cooperation and formed a rural canvassing committee including Rev Waldrip, F C Snyder, Dr Charles Richardson, and J J Head. Sheriff and State Settle County Tax Revenues in Washington

Washington County turned over 54511.70 to the state as its share of taxes collected. Sheriff Candle and Deputy Homer Jackson returned from Little Rock after settling for the county. The tax sheet lists General Revenue Fund 14996.19 and School 24688.20 with other items such as Auto Licenses and Pension, and the report mentions travels of residents and notices from Pineville.
