Washington reports two Army airmen Corporal Frank S. Scott and Lieutenant Lewis G. Rockwell died when an Army aeroplane fell from about 600 feet after a wooing ascent. In Hempstead New York John L Longstaff, former English officer, perished in a biplane crash while a mechanic Pierre Chavellier was injured. Longstaff held Royal Aero Club license and had flown as a scout for Mexican insurgents.

STANDARD VIOLATES DECREE Charges Filed With DOJ by Attorney

Four Perish While Asleep in Country Home Tragedy
In Quincy on September 30 four people including Charles Pfanschmidt and his sixteen year old daughter Blanche died in a country home fire. The four bodies were incinerated and only charred skeletons remained. Investigators note a nearby store on the premises, not within the residence, as a clue in the murder theory. The victims include Miss Emma Kaempen, twenty one, a teacher and daughter of a local contractor.

Des Moines Sept. 30 The Iowa Supreme Court will enforce its liquor service ruling. Judge Withrow of Burlington freed two men after a lower court failed to compel trial for violations. The men ran a restaurant with a wine adjoining where waiters served liquor through a small window.

Woman sets fire by pouring gasoline in Marshalltown
Miss Mattie Depne of Marshalltown fatally burned when she poured gasoline on a kitchen fire to hasten it. The blaze spread to her father Fred Deppe's house, which burned completely after the girl was thrown by the flames. Frank Pratt of Northboro narrowly escaped a savage bull attack, saving his horse and himself. Pratt suffered a badly injured leg. Prater also sustained crippling injuries.
