Farmington scenes highlight the Aztec fair with visitors from Shiprock Bloomfield Durango and reservations. Local residents report weather harvests and road dust while a burst of social calls and small town business fills the week.
The 34th Annual Farmington Fair drew praise for strong exhibits and numerous low cost sports. Credit goes to Mrs. Iris N Ball for exhibits, Tyro Schutz and Barber Rhoades for sports, Mrs. Fannie L Paxton for San Juan Day, and secretary Frank Foley. Financials remained solid with a small debt paid to Gibson Lumber.
Supt W T Shelton leads Navajo Nation to host the fourth annual Navajo fair at Shiprock with bigger exhibits a carnival and sports on October 1 2 3 and 4 Roads are in good condition after rains and residents are urged to attend this unique event featuring Indians in fair atmosphere.

The Albuquerque and Rio Grande valley turnout last Thursday built 177 teams and 77 autos to lay 13 miles of revived roads. Prominent state men worked alongside locals, with the commissary supplying lunches to the hungry laborers.
Roy P Cooper a former county resident travels from San Diego toward the east via Albuquerque and Santa Fe in a Coast to Coast car promoting the 1915 Panama Exposition to be held in San Diego. The four man party plans panoramic moving picture views and delivers letters from the Exposition President to state governors. When not touring he runs a top automotive garage in San Diego.
Elopes to Rockville Massachusetts where George Curry former governor of New Mexico and member of the sixty second congress marries Miss Martha Clare Gans of Uniontown Pennsylvania. Curry aged fifty the bride twenty one. Parents opposed the match and prompted the runaway wedding. Curry's career includes sheriff roles frontier days Spanish American War Rough Riders Philippine Scouts Manila police chief and provincial governor posts.
Roy N. Francis and Irving, famed for daredevil acts, will perform at the Albuquerque fair from October 6 to 11. Irving will parachute from Francis’s airplane at 4,000 feet, using a parachute to descend in a thrilling display.
Frank H Wilcox of Farmington returned Monday from the east where he was called on a sideline mission. His four generational mother died after a brief illness while visiting Nebraska. He rushed to attend the funeral after learning of the death by wire.
A special meeting of stockholders in Albuquerque reported the Interstate Casualty and Guaranty Company recently moved its principal office from Santa Fe to the city. Officers were elected including A B Renehan president and Jas A Blainey secretary. Executive and finance committees were named. The note praises a home company benefiting New Mexico’s economy and reducing insurance premium drain to eastern firms.
Supt McGraw reports to Chairman Williams that Flora Vista now has a standard gauge box car at the depot on the Farmington Branch with a key and two locks provided by Mr Masters. The move, praised by residents, mirrors Cedar Hill and Riverside's unloading need and is tied to Williams inquiry.
G Shaw of the Gazetteer notes the ola relic exhibit as a standout feature at the fair. A Joseph Moore colt won blue at the stock show. Moore is praised for raising premier horses. Also advertised is a mare for sale and riding pony with prices, contact Box 147 for details.
